The personal information you provide to Transport Canada (TC) through the Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) will be collected by the Seafarer Certification Program under the legal authority of the Canada Shipping Act, 2001, subsection 16(1) and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act.
Your personal information is collected for the purpose of administering the Fatigue Awareness Training activity and determining eligibility for reimbursement.
Aggregate data will be used for auditing, evaluation, and promotion of the training activity.
If you choose not to provide the requested information, you will not be able to register for the training, and TC will not be able to cover the cost of your training directly to the CCOHS.
You have the right to request for access to, and correction of, your personal information. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you feel your personal information has been handled improperly.
