Heat illness is a serious but preventable health risk. Know the signs and take action.
Whether you work in a hot smelting plant or outdoors in the summer months, heat exposure can be dangerous. Very hot environments can overwhelm the body's coping mechanisms leading to a variety of serious conditions.
Heat exhaustion can quickly progress to heat stroke. Know the signs to watch for. Display this awareness poster so workers, managers and supervisors can all be vigilant and take action if the need occurs. Heat stroke requires immediate medical attention - it can cause death or permanent disability if emergency treatment is delayed or not given.
