This course is an introduction to important workplace health and safety issues. Learn about hazards in the workplace and how you can help protect yourself and your co-workers on the job.

  • Working safely – general approaches
  • Working safely – specific hazards
  • Occupational health and safety law
  • Occupational health and safety programs, and the roles of committees

Upon completion of the course you will know how to:

  • Identify the three fundamental rights given to workers in health and safety legislation
  • Recognize the duties of employers and workers
  • List the six basic types of workplace hazards and give examples
  • Identify how workplace hazards are controlled and steps you can take to protect yourself
  • Recognize the basic elements of an occupational health and safety program
  • Identify who to ask for help with health and safety matters

Average time to complete this course is approximately 90 minutes.
